Work Experience

President, Nancy Green & Associates, Inc.
Catastrophic Medical Management & Rehabilitation
PO Box 1496, Salisbury, NC 28145 1988-present

Job duties included managing all of the day to day business activities and supervision of professional consultants and secretaries. As a working case manger, I specialized in the medical management and vocational placement of industrially injured individuals with catastrophic injuries (amputations, burns, head injuries, spinal cord injuries and multiple trauma cases). Approximately 30% of the workweek are devoted to researching and writing Life Care Plans. Expert testimony is provided on catastrophic injuries, at SSDI hearings and life care plans. As a Certified Disability Management Specialist, I am familiar with all service systems and lines of insurance.

Southeastern Regional Supervisor
Medical Management and Rehabilitation Department
Maryland Casualty Company
Atlanta, Georgia 1986-1988

As the first regional supervisor in the Southeast, I had the supervisory responsibilities of employees in seven states, ten offices. Managed 1.5-1.75 million medical expense dollars at any one time. This position required the ability to analyze complex situations, apply health care principals, recognize insurance claim goals and make recommendations for the achieving of rehabilitation and medical cost control objectives.

Provided direction to the Baltimore Home Office in the writing and implementation of company policies and procedures for rehabilitation and medical cost controls in the Region. Developed training material for rehabilitation and medical cost control. I provided direction and instruction to Field Claim Office personnel regarding special needs, goals and problems of the catastrophically injured individual. I left this position because they were purchased by a European Company that did not have in-house rehabilitation. I was encouraged by Maryland Casualty to start my own business so that they could refer cases.

Rehabilitation Consultant, Medical Case Manager, Legal Medical Researcher
Intracorp
Norcross, Georgia 1984-1986

As a Rehabilitation Specialist, I worked state and federal W/C cases, LTD cases and auto liability cases. As a medical researcher my reports and findings were primarily used for court room testimony. Job duties as a medical case manager included working with Claims personnel, claimant/family, physician, health care providers, and health facilities to:

  1. Identify realistic short and long term goals for rehabilitation
  2. Develop and coordinate the implementation of a comprehensive and individualized rehabilitation plan
  3. Provide counseling, health teaching, nursing care consultations, and appropriate referrals, when necessary, to promote optimal return to function.
  4. As a medical case manager I handled many of the specialty case e.g. multiple births, premature infants, trauma cases.
  5. Assist in evaluation of the home environment, utilizing services of persons skilled in home modifications for the disabled, to plan a barrier free dwelling.

Staff Nurse, Samaritan Hospital, Troy, New York 1981-1984
